What I’ve Been Up To.

Friday, October 1st, 2010

My dad was in town from 9/16 to 9/23. That thursday night, his plane was a bit late, but I had barbacoa going in my slow cooker, so it was ready just when he arrived. Friday the 17th we went to Gettsyburg. We toured the cemetaries, battlefields and things like that. We had a mediocre lunch at “The Pike” which is right next to the visitor center, and we eventually did a haunted tour of Farnsworth Inn, which has been all sorts of tv shows about how haunted it is. Not very spooky at all actually. We drove home and did a late dinner at Luna Grill, which made us both sick, making it the second and last time I will ever eat there. Vlad’s gotten sick, Guin’s gotten sick and now both my dad and I have gotten sick there. May it burn in hell.

Saturday we did Arlington National Cemetary and then went to see “All’s Well That End’s Well” at STC and had dinner at Jaleo where my father thought it was funny to keep bringing up that they have rabbit on the menu and suggesting I try it. This is the kind of stuff that he finds HILARIOUS and everyone else finds as a disarming lack of social skills. Sunday was a relax as I had a ton of work to do. Monday was the Vietnam Wall memorial and Tuesday was another relax day. The rabbits were not fond of Rick and rarely ventured from the bedroom. Now they’re accustomed to that aversiona nd trying to get them back out here has been hard.

Besides that, it’s been very busy with work, writing and the like. Sept and Oct are the busy months for video games that I have to play and it takes up a chunk of my time. Tomorrow is Oktoberfest here in Shirlington and then it’s back to work. I still fret regularly about Chewie and check him for bumps. The only ones he has right now are incision points, but there is this one that used to be huge that is now just a tiny bump that has me worried regularly and he does NOT like for it to be touched. If it grows at all, it’s time to bring him back in, but I hate the thought of putting him through a third surgery.

Other than that, it’s the same ol’, same ol’.
